The name actually tells the whole story: Enjoi Skateboards stands for enjoyment and fun on your skateboard. Marc Johnson founded Enjoi in 2000 out of dissatisfaction with his then-sponsor, A-Team Skateboards, where, according to him, everything revolved around marketing and making money. With Enjoi, Marc tried to rediscover the joy in skateboarding. The panda logo and the name Enjoi revealed themselves to Marc in a dream. His former A-Teammate Rodney Mullen helped Marc establish the brand and joined Enjoi's skate team, which, besides Marc and Rodney, included big names like Jerry Hsu, Louie Barletta, and Dave Mayhew. Besides this rock-solid team, Enjoi distinguished itself with its colorful, humorous, and sometimes controversial graphics. For the first few years, Marc personally created all the ads, board graphics, and catalogs, leaving him with little time for skating. Eventually, he got fed up and left his "baby" to ride forChocolate Skateboards. Matt Eversole succeeded Marc as brand director, and under his leadership, Enjoi released its first skateboarding film, 'Bag of Suck'. The video was named "Skate Video of the Year" by Transworld, and Jerry Hsu's part was chosen as best video part at the same awards ceremony. Later, well-known videos like 'Tweak the Beef' and 'Oververt' followed. In 2013, Matt Eversole left Enjoi, and pro skater Louie Barletta has since run the company. Not without success: the Enjoi team, which now consists of rippers like Ben Raemers, Jose Rojo, Cairo Foster, and "our" Wieger van Wageningen, was named Skate Team of the Year in 2014. The brand also continues to distinguish itself with unique graphics, and the familiar panda is still a fixture. Enjoi!
